2) To all the new elected Board Members, there will be a board meeting on the 20th of June 2010 2pm at the Villa Caceres coffee shop.
An outreach program for underprivileged school children was held last June 28, 2010 at the Melliton Elementary School at Brgy. Concepcion and Sabang Elementary School in Brgy. Sabang, Naga City. Dubbed as the Balik-Eskwela Outreach Program, the activity was jointly sponsored by the Ateneo de Naga General Alumni Association (ADNUGAA) headed by its President, Dr. Sancho Tolentino, and the 2010 Silver Jubilarians AdeN HS Batch 85 headed by its president Col. Gil Francis Tria. Around 150 school children from each school, mostly first and second graders, were recipients of assorted school supplies and slippers. Volunteers from the present ADNUGAA board and members of Batch 85 handed out the goods to ecstatic school children. It is our hope that at least by giving the necessary tools for learning, we will help our own little way in the education of these needy children, says ADNUGAA President Dr. Tolentino. Each child received writing pads, pencils, sharpeners, crayons, scissors, and notebooks, as well as a pair of new slippers. Col.Tria, the indefatiguable Batch 85 President likewise reaffirms his support for the community of Sabang. Under his leadership, the Silver Jubilarians has adopted the communities of Brgys. Sabang, Abella and Tabuc, as recipients of various charitable activities. Recently, batch 85 sponsored a summer youth camp for the out of school youth from the three barrangays last April 2010. Our mission does not end by giving mere donations to these kids, Col.Tria emphasizes. Keeping these children off the streets by giving opportunities in education as well as Christ-centered activities for these children when they grow up into teenagers will help them develop into responsible and ultimately productive members of society.
Grown ups are not those who can take care of themselves but those who can take care of others. Happy birthday padi!
